Marigold: What does Calendula mean in your care?
Calendula may sound less familiar than marigold, but it refers to the same plant. If you find Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract on your care product, it contains an extract from its flowers. It is used, among other things, as a skin-care ingredient. However, it is not the flower alone that decides whether the recipe suits you: the texture and other ingredients also play a role.
An example is the AXIS-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum . It combines marigold extract with niacinamide, glycerin and squalane and has a light consistency. Spread a small amount on the face or areas you want to care for and pat in gently. Afterwards you can apply your cream. If you look at the list of ingredients, you now know which flower is behind the long name.
