Text of the EU communication
At least two years legal guarantee of conformity for goods sold in the European Union.
Consumers can assert their rights under statutory warranty law, e.g. B. if the goods
- does not correspond to the description,
- not functioning as intended.
Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity that existed at the time of delivery of the goods and becomes apparent within the period of the statutory warranty. In such cases, sellers must offer the following:
- free repair or free replacement delivery,
- in certain cases a price reduction or a full refund of the purchase price.
In some countries a longer period of legal warranty applies. A shorter period may apply to used goods, but not less than one year.

What should you do if you receive goods that are in breach of contract?
- Report the problem to the seller as soon as possible.
- Provide proof of purchase, e.g. B. the receipt, invoice or a bank statement.
Sellers and manufacturers may also provide commercial guarantees that apply independently of the statutory warranty. This GARAN marking, for example, shows that the manufacturer provides a commercial durability guarantee at no additional cost, which covers the entire product.
