Korean Skincare at Douglas: Choosing the right brands and care products

Yes, Douglas carries Korean skincare. Listed in the Douglas category for Korean skincare are, among others, Beauty of Joseon, COSRX, Anua and SKIN1004. Between the brands you will find very different products. A familiar name helps with recognition; When making your selection, it is particularly worth taking a look at what the individual bottle should do in your care.

This buying guide comes from Bloom & Shine, our Korean skincare shop. It also contains links to our own range. Offer review: September 10, 2026.

Start with bathroom space

Maybe your cleaner is almost out of stock. You can then search specifically for a suitable replacement. Maybe you like your current care routine, but are curious about an essence. These are two different starting points. If you name them briefly before browsing, a long brand overview becomes a manageable selection.

A brand often offers several types of products. A serum and a cream from the same brand can differ more in their application than two cleansers from different brands. Our article on Korean skincare brands will help you get an initial overview. Here we take a look at two specific Douglas offers and look at the product type, task and application.

Beauty of Joseon Green Plum: a cleanser for rinsing off

The Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser at Douglas is listed there as a facial cleansing foam. The product details say “gel-to-foam”. It is a water-based cleanser for facial cleansing, which you then rinse off.

The instructions from Beauty of Joseon describe application with moistened hands, gentle massaging and rinsing with lukewarm water. Anyone who wears long-lasting make-up should also consider its removal: the manufacturer does not describe this cleaner as a make-up remover.

When making your selection, you can first check whether you are looking for such a cleaning step. If you already like using a cleansing gel, Green Plum would be a possible choice for this space. A second cleaning tube next to it does not automatically make your care more complete. We classify other products from the brand in the Beauty of Joseon portrait .

COSRX Snail 96: an essence before the cream

The Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence at Douglas appears under the product type “Facial treatment”. Behind the name is an essence with snail secretion filtrate for moisturizing. It stays on the skin and therefore performs a different task than the Green Plum cleaner.

COSRX describes the application after cleansing and toning: distribute a small amount, pat in gently and then use a moisturizer. The term “cure” does not mean a fixed treatment lasting several weeks. For further variants you can read more in our COSRX portrait .

An essence is worth a closer look, especially if you want an extra moisturizing step and would like to try out the texture. Take your existing care products into consideration: If you already use a moisturizing toner or serum, they may already be taking up the space you want to fill.

How does this become a coherent sequence?

The two examples show cleaning and an additional care step. In a simple evening routine, cleansing is followed by the appropriate cream; the essence can be classified before that. Sun protection should be planned separately for the day. The morning and evening routine explains the structure in more detail.

You don’t have to buy a full series of a brand. When combining, look at the respective instructions and function. Two additional serums can address the same desire, although their names sound very different. If you add something new, you can initially leave the rest of the process familiar and see whether you actually enjoy using the supplement in your everyday life.

Keep online offers, branches and sellers apart

An online listing says nothing about what is in your nearest Douglas branch. Store availability can be checked separately on the two tested product pages. Also check the full product name and filling quantity; Similar names or different sized packaging otherwise make comparison difficult.

When ordering, also note who sells and ships the item. Douglas explains the note “Sales and shipping by partners” in his ordering help . Therefore, check the specific offer and the associated delivery information. This information concerns purchasing; it does not evaluate the effect of a care product.

The two examples at Bloom & Shine

You can also see the Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser at Bloom & Shine and the COSRX Snail 96 Essence at Bloom & Shine in our range. Our classification follows the same tasks: cleaning to rinse or an additional moistening step. If the product version is identical, the place of purchase does not change its recipe.

If you also look at the drugstore range, our guide to Korean Skincare at Rossmann covers the selection there and the ISANA line. For your own shopping list, the required care step and the full product name are sufficient. This allows you to continue your search in a targeted manner.
