Bee venom in cosmetics: What does Bee Venom mean?

Bee Venom is actually the English name for bee venom. It is a different substance than honey or propolis and is also used in cosmetic formulations. The name does not automatically make a product more effective or suitable for every skin type. Particularly here, the selection depends on compatibility: If you have a known allergy to bee venom, you should avoid appropriate care and do not do a tolerance test at home.

An example from our range is the I’m From Honey Mask . In addition to honey and vegetable oils, it also contains Bee Venom. The rich mask is intended to be washed off: apply after cleansing and remove with lukewarm water according to the instructions. The soft care feeling comes from the entire formulation. It cannot be attributed to bee venom alone.

Statutory guarantee

Official EU notice on the statutory guarantee. The full text follows below the graphic. Link to Your Europe, opens in a new tab.

Text of the EU notice

At least two years of statutory guarantee of conformity for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can assert their rights under the statutory guarantee, for example if the goods

  • do not correspond to the description,
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity that existed at the time of delivery of the goods and becomes apparent within the statutory guarantee period. In such cases sellers must offer:

  • free repair or free replacement,
  • in certain cases a price reduction or a full refund of the purchase price.

Some countries apply a longer statutory guarantee period. For second-hand goods a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

What to do if you receive goods that do not conform?

  1. Report the problem to the seller as soon as possible.
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as the receipt, invoice or a bank statement.

Sellers and manufacturers may also offer commercial guarantees that apply independently of the statutory guarantee. This GARAN label, for example, shows that the manufacturer grants a commercial durability guarantee at no extra cost that covers the whole product.
