Some COSRX bottles have a very large number written on them. 96 for an essence, 92 for a cream, other numbers for vitamin C or retinol. If you’re just looking for a suitable care step, it quickly looks like a bit of a math task.

The numbers alone are of little help when putting together a routine. A snail essence, an acid product and a rich cream perform different tasks. You can therefore get to know COSRX well by asking a specific question: Do you want an additional moisturizing step, are you looking for guidance on blackheads or are you missing a pleasant care finish?

What kind of brand is COSRX?

COSRX is a Korean skincare brand. The brand identity at Amorepacific names 2013 as the year it was founded and explains the name as a combination of “Cosmetics” and “Rx”. The appearance aligns the product selection with different skin concerns.

The “Rx” in the name does not make the cosmetic a prescription drug. Formulation, product type and application remain crucial for advice.

The range includes simple moisturizing care and more targeted active ingredient products side by side. Therefore, “COSRX is for oily skin” would be just as shortened as “COSRX is for sensitive skin.” A brand can offer several very different products. We look at three of them.

Advanced Snail 96: an essence before the cream

The Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence has a slightly gel-like, slightly pulling texture. This impression is part of the product and can be unusual the first time you pump it. Whether you like him is a very practical selection question.

The formulation contains snail secretion filtrate, as well as betaine, panthenol, allantoin and sodium hyaluronate. The manufacturer provides a small amount after cleaning and toner if necessary. It is distributed and gently tapped in; followed by the moisturizer.

BHA Blackhead Power Liquid: choose more specifically

The BHA Blackhead Power Liquid is a peeling product that remains on the skin. This puts it in a different category than snail essence, even though both are liquid and are used after cleansing.

The recipe says Betaine Salicylate . This is the specific salicylate-containing ingredient in this product. A numerical comparison with a serum containing salicylic acid is therefore not a direct comparison of the same formulation. What matters is which product you actually have in front of you and how it should be used.

COSRX assigns the liquid to more experienced users and recommends a limited frequency of use instead of automatic use with every cleaning. It is applied after cleaning and allowed to absorb before further steps. Follow your pack instructions and skin condition; Sun protection is part of your daily routine.

If you already use retinol, another peel, or multiple active ingredient pads, I would review these steps before purchasing. Another product quickly makes the routine more difficult to keep track of. Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream: a rich finish

The Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream is a face cream. The focus here is on the feeling of care and a richer texture. The tested ingredient lists include glycerin, sunflower oil, ceramide NP and beeswax.

This may be a format you consider for drier-looking cheeks or a slightly richer evening finish. Whether it feels comfortable for you also depends on what products are underneath. Start with the amount that spreads easily and see if you even want a second layer.

The manufacturer intends to use it on the face, avoiding the eye area. The cream also contains fragrance ingredients. Beeswax also makes this specific product not a vegan choice.

The word “Ceramide” on the jar is a helpful indication of an ingredient, but not a blanket promise for sensitive skin. Need a complete COSRX routine?

You can combine a single COSRX product with your previous care. The brand on the bottles does not have to be the same. To make a clear selection, I would first note which step should remain and which is currently not working well.

If everything feels tight after washing, that is a different concern than an unwanted shine throughout the day. A new essence does not automatically replace a more suitable cleansing. And exfoliation is not a requirement to use a moisturizer sensibly.

For the budget, the actual use is often more helpful than a large bottle on offer: there is a place for a product that you like and use appropriately. On the other hand, three similar moisturizing products can stand next to each other for a long time. A well-known brand is offered through many retailers. Look for the exact variant, a traceable seller identity and accessible product information. Packaging can look similar and still require a query; A barcode scan alone does not resolve the question of authenticity.
