Anua Toner in comparison: Heartleaf or Rice for your routine?
A clear bottle with Heartleaf, a milky one with Rice: With these two Anua toners, the texture alone helps to narrow down the selection. Do you want a very watery layer of care after cleansing, or would you like a light milky toner?
Both remain on the skin and are used before further care. Nevertheless, they are not put together interchangeably. We compare the Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner and the Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner, which you can find with us, based on their specified recipes.
Heartleaf 77: a watery care layer
The Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner has a light, watery texture. The list of ingredients for our shop version includes heart leaf extract, glycerin, betaine and panthenol as well as other plant components. Niacinamide is not included in this verified list.
If your cream already has the right amount of richness and you would like to try out a toner that is as light as possible beforehand, this is an understandable approach. Heartleaf Toner adds a watery step without doing the same job as a cream.
The number 77 refers to the declared heart leaf component. It is not a measure of how much “soothing” skin receives. Even a high plant content says nothing reliably about your personal tolerance.
Rice 70: milky texture with several care ingredients
The Anua Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner is described by Anua as light and milky. In addition to rice ingredients, the recipe we provide contains glycerin, niacinamide, panthenol, hyaluronic ingredients and ceramides.
This makes it an option if you are looking for exactly this combination in a light intermediate layer. However, the milky appearance does not mean that the toner automatically replaces the appropriate cream. It also doesn’t reveal that it has to be richer on every skin type than any clear toner.
If you particularly want to know how milky facial toners are made, you can find the basics in our article about Milky Toner. This is about the specific Anua selection.
Heartleaf or Rice: Which question helps you?
If you are happy with your cream and want as little extra texture as possible, I would look at the Heartleaf watery toner first. If you are looking for a milky toner and find niacinamide and ceramides interesting in this care level, it is worth taking a look at Rice.
Take a look at the products that are already in the bathroom. If you already use several formulations with niacinamide, you don’t need to add another one. Conversely, niacinamide in rice toner is no reason to rule it out if you tolerate the ingredient well. It’s about a suitable supplement to your care.
Both checked shop ingredient lists do not list perfume. However, they contain various plant components. “Without perfume” and “tolerable for me” are therefore two separate questions.
If your main concern is severe redness, burning or inflammatory blemishes, comparing toners will not reliably solve this question. Have persistent complaints classified professionally. A toner is discussed here as a cosmetic care step.
How to add one of the toners to your routine
Anua uses both products after cleansing. Apply a small amount to your fingertips or a cotton pad and spread gently. With clean hands, a toner can also be applied without an additional pad; vigorous rubbing is not necessary.
This is followed by the further care steps that you actually need. The manufacturer’s instructions allow morning and evening. This doesn’t mean you have to max out both times or layer on top of each other. For a new toner, a clear space in your usual routine is sufficient.
If you are concerned about the overall order, Toner and Essence: Difference and Application will help. If, on the other hand, you want to compare the serums of the same brand, you can find our own Anua serum comparison for Niacinamide + TXA and Rice Ceramide .
This is how you get to know the new toner
To get started, you can first observe the new care product on a small area of skin. The American Academy of Dermatology describes a step-by-step approach. If there is a noticeable reaction, the application is stopped; An inconspicuous small test is no guarantee for the entire face.
What we know for sure
- Heartleaf 77 is watery, Rice 70 is a light milky toner according to the product descriptions.
