TIRTIR Milk Skin Toner oder Light?
Would you like to try a milky toner from TIRTIR and are torn between Milk Skin Toner and Light? The practical difference lies primarily in the desired feeling on the skin: the original is aimed at a more intensive moisturizing step, while light is aimed at a lighter texture. The decision should fit with the rest of your care.
You can find both variants in our TIRTIR selection . You don’t need both on top of each other – a matching toner is sufficient as an optional step after cleansing.
Milk Skin Toner: if you want more care
The TIRTIR Milk Skin Toner 150 ml is the original variant. TIRTIR describes it as an intensively moisturizing toner and names, among other things, glycerin, niacinamide, rice bran extract and panthenol. As a starting point, it is suitable for you if you like to use an additional moisturizing step after cleansing.
Whether it is rich enough for you or too much under your cream will be reflected in your routine. Start with a thin layer. You don’t have to reapply a toner just because it’s recommended as “layering.”
Milk Skin Toner Light: if you are looking for a lighter texture
The TIRTIR Milk Skin Toner Light 150 ml is positioned by the manufacturer particularly for light care for oily and impure-prone skin. The recipe also includes glycerin, niacinamide, panthenol and rice bran extract.
If you already like using your cream and want a light layer of moisture underneath, Light is a nice place to start. Apply a little at first: This way you will quickly notice whether you are comfortable with the additional layer.
The differences at a glance
- Desired texture: Original for a more intensive moisturizing step; Light for an easier care experience.
- Niacinamide according to the manufacturer: 2% in the original and 4% in light. More percent does not automatically mean more benefit or better tolerability.
- Application: Use both after cleaning and before subsequent care.
- Our sizes: Original in 150 ml; Light in 150 ml and 50 ml . With 50 ml you can get to know Light before you decide on the large bottle.

Does the toner contain milk or milk proteins?
The name “Milk” here is not evidence of animal milk. There are no milk proteins listed in the tested ingredient lists of both toners; TIRTIR describes the formulas as vegan. If you have a specific intolerance, you should still check the current pack and not rely solely on the product name.
The milky appearance is a feature of the formulation. We explain what sets such products apart in the article Milky Toner: What milky facial toner means .
How to incorporate one of the toners into your routine
- Cleanse your face and place a small amount of toner in the palms of your hands or on a cotton pad.
- Spread it gently, avoiding the eye area. Rubbing and many successive coats are not necessary.
- Then use the care that you already tolerate well. Follow the application instructions for your products.
- If you use make-up afterwards, let the care product absorb first. Start under a cushion with a little toner and check whether the products can be easily distributed on top of each other.
If possible, only introduce one new product at a time. If you’re already happy with the cleanser and cream, you don’t need to add toner. Here you can find the classification of the difference between toner and essence .
Which one would I choose first?
Do you like a more intensive care feeling? The original is ideal for this. Prefer a lighter layer? Then try Light under your usual cream. You only need one of the two variants to get started.
An impurity alone does not determine the right toner. “Light” also means neither irritation-free nor automatically suitable for all sensitive skin. Check the full list of ingredients, especially if you already have an intolerance to certain plant extracts. If you are unsure, Ask Thu will help you classify your existing care.
